A FREE SERVICE
Some people spend years wondering if the artwork they own could be valuable. Often, the fear of spending more on a valuation than the artwork may be worth puts people off even contacting an appraisal company.
Since 2007 when we discovered a $475,000 painting by Tom Thomson that the owner was convinced was not worth having appraised, we have adopted a policy of not charging for initial advice for original artworks.
If we think your artwork is worth less than $2,000 on the secondary market we will send you a brief reply to that effect and there will be no charge.
If you have an artwork that we think is worth more than $2,000 on the secondary market we will give you our opinion as to value, again free of charge, and we may suggest a formal appraisal at our standard appraisal rate. A formal appraisal will require a physical inspection of the artwork at our office or your home.
Please feel free to send us an email with a photograph of the artwork along with any details that may help us with the valuation process.
